Safewell participated in the Pilot Share Fair which took place at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 2nd November 2011. The new air purity analyser was on display along with the latest version of the popular ALG10 breathing air purifier.
Safewell also demonstrated a revolutionary digital camera suitable for use in zone 0 hazardous areas. The camera is manufactured by Extronics, a leader in hazardous area equipment manufacture. There was a lot of interest in the camera due to its potential to save time during offshore operations such as surveys, job progress recording, equipment documentation etc.

Safewell conducted a second visit to Baku in October 2011. The purpose of the visit was to meet existing clients and conduct meetings with other interested parties.
Commenting on the trip, Ed Gardyne said, ‘The people I met were very enthusiastic and keen to help Safewell gain an appreciation of the Baku oil and gas market. We gathered a lot of useful advice and we will use this information to plan how we can best grow our business and support our clients in this country.’

Safewell secured an order to supply 22 of its ALG10 breathing air purifiers and 12 air analysers and associated spares and consumables to keep operative safe during forthcoming shutdown operations in the Baku oil and gas fields.
Commenting on the news, Ed Gardyne said, ‘We are delighted to secure this business. It demonstrates that our safety assurance philosophy is being adopted not only in North Sea operations but also now in the Caspian. We will continue to grow our business in this region over the coming period.

Safewell Solutions is pleased to announce that its new air purity analyser product has passed CE testing and is market ready.
The product is used for safety assurance of compressed air used in to support human respiration in hazardous work environments. It may also be used to test the quality of compressed air used in critical processes such as food and pharmaceutical production.The software has been implemented to provide pass/fail logic for air quality standards such as BS EN12021 and ISO8573. Further development will include implementation of medical and dental air standards. Commenting Ed Gardyne, Director said, ‘ The new air analyser is a fundamental tool used to carry out safety assurance of compressed air at the ‘end of the pipe’. It has been designed to be easy to use and provide easy records keeping allowing our clients full traceability of their safety assurance activities.’

In June 2011 Safewell Solutions visited the oil and gas market in Baku on a fact finding mission. During the trip Ed Gardyne of Safewell provided training for RBG blasting and painting operatives on how to test respiratory air quality to safety assure this aspect of their field operations. Client feedback following the training course was very positive.
Commenting on the trip, Ed Gardyne said, ‘The Baku oil and gas market supply chain is still under development and we are keen to become a part of it. Our holistic approach to safety assurance of compressed air used for respiratory protection was well received and we hope to return to Baku soon with a more detailed plan to further promote our products and services.’

In February 2011 Safewell Solutions visited the oil and gas market in Trinidad on a fact finding mission. During the trip Ed Gardyne of Safewell provided training for RBG blasting and painting operatives on how to test respiratory air quality to safety assure this aspect of their field operations. Client feedback following the training course was very positive.
Several meetings took place with other local companies interested in Safewell’s products and services. Commenting on the trip, Ed Gardyne said, ‘The Trinidad oil and gas market is fairly well established however our holistic approach to safety assurance of compressed air used for respiratory protection was well received. We will return to the island soon with a more detailed plan to further promote our products and services.’

Safewell has been involved in the development of a cell harvesting device
used to capture epithelial cells in patients under investigation for bladder
cancer.
The device is the subject of a poster being presented at the National Cancer
Research Institute.
