Air Purity Analyser (APA)

The Safewell Air Purity Analyser is used to test the quality of compressed air and gas. It is used widely to assess the quality of compressed air used for breathing purposes in accordance with EN12021 and compressed air used in production processes in accordance with ISO 8573.

Breathing Air (EN12021)

The Safewell Air Purity Analyser checks the levels of carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2), Oxygen, Oil Vapour, Water Vapour, Temperature (Airline and ambient) and flow to air fed helmet of air suit. This allows the breathing air user to ensure that the air quality is fit to breathe and also that the compressed air delivery system has sufficient capacity.

The unit also has a selectable port to allow measurement of a range of gases and compressor oil types. The unit is programmed for use with industry standard Draeger tubes including the Draeger Impactor for easier and more accurate detection of synthetic and mineral oil mists in compressed breathing air. The unit can also be programmed for use with Gastec tubes.

Process Air (ISO8573)

The Safewell Air Purity Analyser can be used to check levels of water vapour and oil in compressed air used in air quality critical processes such as food and pharmaceutical production. This allows the water and oil vapour levels in the air to be compared against the specified quality class defined in ISO 8573-1. The air purity analyser is programmed for use with the Draeger Impactor to allow more accurate oil measurement. The impactor is more suited for use in the food industry to avoid use of glass tubes in food processing areas.

Note that the air analyser is not a particle counter. To evaluate the number of particles in process air requires a laser particle counter in addition to the air purity analyser. Please contact us for details.

The number of particles in process air is dictated by the type and quality of the filtration used. Not all filters are the same. Check if the filters being used are validated to ISO12500.
