In addition to electricity, water and gas, compressed air is one of the most commonly utilised energy sources used in a complete range of industrial sectors. Factors such as economic filtration and a reliable achievement of compressed air quality have to be considered.

Not all compressed air filters are the same. There is a large range of products available many of which are sold on the basis of low price but offering inferior performance and short lifetimes.

It is important that the performance of filters used to purify compressed air is validated in accordance with ISO12500.

ISO12500 specifies the testing procedures for testing compressed air filters to determine the efficiency in removing oil aerosols, oil vapour and particles.
