Tablet Dosing Units TDU
The Tablet Dosing Unit TDU disinfects potable water using slow dissolving calcium hypochlorite tablets. The TDU does not require an electrical supply to drive the dosing mechanism. Instead it uses water pressure present in gravity fed systems or the pressure generated by existing pumps.
The benefits of the TDU are numerous including operation in remote areas where electricity is not available or limited, low energy consumption, batching of fresh hypochlorite solution on a continuous basis at point of use, simple to install, operate and maintain. Calcium hypochlorite tablets are also more stable in storage than liquid hypochlorite (Chlorus) which can deteriorate in storage.
Applications of the TDU include hundreds of successful service reservoir disinfection projects in the UK water sector, primary disinfection of private water supplies and legionella control in cooling towers.
The tablet dosing units are manufactured in a range of sizes to suit tank flow throughput requirements and chlorine dosage required. Three main sizes of tablets are available 7 gram, 20 gram and 300 gram. Tablet choice is based on the application.
