£350+ raised in Archway Charity Halloween Bake Sale

Our events committee at Brathens Eco Business Park organised a Halloween Bake Sale in aid of our chosen local charity Archway.

The charity was founded in Aberdeen in 1986 by a group of parents of children with learning disabilities, who were looking for respite and support. Today they proudly continue as a parent-led charity, ensuring families are provided with essential support, respite and high quality care.

This charity is very close to Ed Gardyne’s heart (Managing Director of Safewell Solutions Ltd. and Vice Chairman of Archway). Ed’s daughter Hannah is 25 years old and has been living with a unique cerebellum disorder since birth and the family are incredibly thankful to have the support and respite provided by Archway over the years.

To continue providing the quality services they do, Archway, like all charities, are reliant on donations. We are so proud and thankful to everyone who baked the delicious cakes and savouries for the event and we are delighted to reveal that the team at Brathens Business park raised £351.40.

Janine Davies, Archway’s Fundraising Manager shared the following with us;

“It was an amazing success and raised a fantastic amount – we are just delighted. As you know, Archway is a small, local charity set up by parents and carers themselves We now offer a lifeline of caring services to almost 200 children, young people and adults with learning disabilities through our residential respite services, permanent care services and a new supported living service. We also have a wheelchair friendly holiday home at Loch Loy Holiday Park at Nairn for all our families to use, and a Charity Shop in Aberdeen to raise funds and give service users the opportunity to gain meaningful volunteering/work opportunities.  As a small, local charity, local support is so important to us and I can’t tell you how much we appreciate yours”.
