The Safewell APA is classed as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and is easy to use, providing reliable and effective testing of compressed breathing air quality in accordance with International Standards and proving the performance of the safety barrier used between the compressor and the lungs of those breathing from the compressor.

The Safewell APA Mk2 unit was launched in 2013 and tests the quality of compressed air used for respiratory protection (RPE) and used in industrial processes. Air purity testing is essential to ensure compliance with the recognised Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) and International Air Quality Standards (COSHH L5 & BS EN12021:2014 & IS08573-1) defined for compressed air quality in different safety critical applications.

The APA Mk2 incorporates all of the test functions of the APA Mk1 but with more intelligent, up to date features including: improved battery system; larger digital display; inbuilt pass /fail logic; electronic flowmeter; electronic pressure sensor; automatic pressure dewpoint calculation; auxiliary port for connection of electronic sensors and an SD card for saving test results and automatically generating the test report.

The APA Mk2 is supplied in a waterproof case and is battery powered; a range of accessories are available for the APA Mk2 including a full accessory case.

The Safewell APA Mk2 is a high quality safety product and like any safety product it requires effective maintenance, calibration and testing during the product life cycle to maintain the safety performance. The product has been designed for ease of maintenance and Safewell work closely with clients to manage the lifecycle safety of the product including training, spares holding, calibration, service, testing and revalidation.
