In January 2021, the Practice Manager of Snapehill Dental Studio contacted Safewell by telephone with a request to source a suitable medical breathing air purification system. The existing compressor was performing well onsite but for certain treatments, the dental studio required additional risk reduction to mitigate potential mercury vapours in the ambient air. The client required additional equipment to enable the provision of medical quality breathing air for certain procedures but their difficulty was finding a company who could fully understand their needs and help them from start to finish (Perform a site survey, report findings and specify the correct medical dryer and then subsequently carry out the installation work).
In February 2021, a Safewell technician visited the site with the appropriate approved RAMS, documented the current site set up and checked the availability of connections and flow requirements at point of use.
After this visit, a full report was created to advise Snapehill on the recommendations for installing the medical grade purifier. Then, the correctly sized purifier was manufactured and installed in the clients site with the additional fitting requirements. A medical air quality test report in accordance with BS EN 12021:2014 was carried out and the new set up passed well on all parameters. The client now has medical grade breathing air to reduce risk during specific treatments such as amalgam removal.
Maxine Dye (Snapehill’s General Manager) said from the outset that “Safewell provided a quality service. They were keen to visit the site to see our current system set up and provided an honest and professional report with detailed figures and explanations on their findings.
‘We are very impressed with our newly installed Medipac Breathing Air Purification Unit and the expertise and support Safewell provided. We are happy to say our compressed air quality results are now showing a marked improvement’
