Safewell awarded a follow on contract to install Viewprocess to Monitor remote lochs
Safewell have been awarded a follow on contract to install and commission a further Viewprocess™ system to monitor the level of remote lochs near Lochgilphead in South west Scotland. The client concerned requires the loch level information to plan their fish farming business. They also use the water to generate power for the grid using water driven turbines, thereby reducing their business overhead costs.
Viewprocess™ allows the client to remotely monitor and manage the loch levels in real time from their base . GPRS data is logged on secure servers and performance data is presented graphically. Engineers are also alerted via SMS text messages sent by in response to process upsets.
The data is used to plan work effectively at the fish farm and also maximise revenue generation derived from the flow of water to the fish farm.
Access to the data via the Internet reduces the number of 4×4 vehicle trips required to measure the level manually reducing the carbon footprint of the business. The data also improves safety by ensuring that personnel are less required to visit remote sites in the dark during the Scottish winter months.
